I Recommend. Taking In The Sights At The 'Pirates'

So it is Friday 12th June 2009 and right now on the islands it is just about to strike 6pm! What am I doing right now? Well about to go and sit down at the main 'watering hole' in 'downtown' Victoria - The Pirates Arms, meet the mates and do some 'peoples' watching.

Actually I am running a bit late because the best time to do this 'peoples watching' is around noon time! But anytime in the Seychelles is a good time to watch the 'peoples' enjoy a good drink and share some stories after a 'hard' week on the islands! Hard? Yeah right!

Great weather, beautiful beaches, great food, the smiles of the 'Creole' folks! This is HARD? Nope!

And after a drink or two? Head for a great Creole dish either at home or at a little eating place nearby, catch a film at Deepam's then head for a quiet walk on the beach to watch the best night show around! The night sky of the Seychelles! Twinkle, twinkle....

Enjoy your week-end!

Oops! In case you have been following - I do promise to update this blog shortly with "The Ghost Of Farquhar"!

Where are the Farquhar's?

The Farquhar Group belong to the Outer Islands of the Seychelles, lying in the southwest of the island nation, more than 700 kilometres southwest the capital, Victoria, on Mahé Island. The total land area of all islands in the group is less than 11 km², but the total area of the atolls measures about 370 km².

The group consists of two atolls and one separate island. In addition, there is one separate submerged reef in the area:

Farquhar Atoll (with two larger and about eight smaller islets)
Providence Atoll (with 2 islets, Providence Island and Cerf Island)
St. Pierre Island
Wizard Reef (submerged)
There are only two settlements. The main settlement is on Île du Nord (North Island) of Farquhar Atoll, and the other one on Providence Island of Providence Atoll.
