An Island Is Surrounded By Water.

The Seychelles is of course what is known as a S.I.D.S or 'small island developing state'. Population - about 85,000. Islands - about 116 ( depends on the tides ?) Tortoises - 150,000 (On Aldabra mostly a World Heritage site ), and as a small island state surrounded by the beautiful Indian Ocean, water, drinking water is a resource which is treasured. It is my thinking that as island folks we understand perhaps more than anyone else - well maybe our cousins from the deserts have a leg up on us, the importance of clean drinking and abundant water supply! Without it what would the Seychelles be?

World Water Day is the 22nd of March 2009 - http://www.worldwaterday.org/

Enjoy your stay in the Seychelles Islands. Stay tuned, those 'bananas' are coming!
